Angry Greeks blog for better pay
Frustrated by their political and union leaders, Greek professionals have turned to the internet to vent their displeasure at a low universal monthly wage of 700 euros that they say prevents them from buying houses or starting families. The blog, maintained by a group calling themselves Generation 700, has been an instant success, getting over 700 hits a day and drawing interest from both politicians and the public. The blog regularly criticizes Greek trade unions for routinely failing to promote issues such as social security and educational reforms, leaving the average worker unprotected in the labor market.
