Angry Nigerians take to streets
In Nigeria, thousands are protesting the government over rising oil prices and sub-par wages. Protesters took to the streets today, walking to the government building in Ikeja where security was heightened in light of the protest. The group picked up more people during the journey, with many people leaving their work to join the march as it passed. The Nigeria Labor Congress said it is planning additional rallies for Friday. The NLC is demanding the government refrain from deregulating the oil industry and increase minimum wages.
