Apple affirms employee rights in an internal memo
Apple distributed an internal memo affirming its employees’ right to discuss pay and working conditions. Apple workers have been pushing for change since August 24th when they launched a website and Twitter campaign called Apple Too where they published allegations of workplace harassment and discrimination. Apple is also facing several lawsuits from former employees alleging retaliation for their activism and promoting better workplace conditions. The memo released on Saturday said to employees, “Our policies do not restrict employees from speaking freely about their wages, hours, or working conditions. We encourage any employee with concerns to raise them in the way they feel most comfortable internally or externally.”
