Apple allegedly restricted Slack and social media use of workers unlawfully, according to National Labor Relations Board
Apple has been subject to a National Labor Relations Board complaint alleging that the tech company has been restricting slack messaging between workers in an effort to prevent collective bargaining. Apple allegedly fired a worker for using Slack to propose workplace changes. The NLRB claim also states that Apple restricted social media use of employees. Apple allegedly made a worker delete a social media post, and has conveyed to workers that their social media use may be under surveillance. Apple has stated that it has not participated in any unlawful behavior, and the company respects the opinions and viewpoints of workers. If Apple chooses not to reach a settlement with the National Labor Relations Board, a judge will hear the case in February.
