Apple Says China Partner Made Changes For Workers
Apple released its annual survey of its suppliers, including Foxconn, where suicides last summer drew attention to working conditions in Apple's factories. The survey says that Foxconn has implemented suggestions from Apple that include counseling services and more training. The report also says that Apple is working with suppliers to eliminate underage labor, train employees and pay fair wages. The company says that it has cut contracts with suppliers who fail to make necessary changes or ignore issues. Apple is also trying to buy minerals from regions that are not involved in war or human-rights abuses. Apple has audited 288 supplier facilities since 2007.
