Are Professors Responsible for Student's Early Career Success
Recent research has studied the connection between college curricula and a students’ early career success. Typically, the academy has not evaluated faculty on whether or not they make their courses “career relevant”. Specifically, in liberal arts based institutions that take the perspective that their role is to cultivate knowledge and critical thinking skills, rather than the heavily career-based skills that are often taught in vocational and technical schools.
