Areva Says to Cut 2,700 Jobs in France by 2017
The French nuclear and renewable waste company Areva announced on Tuesday that it will plan to cut 2,700 jobs by 2017 as it begins to restructure. Initially the company had announced in May that it would plan to cut between 5000-6000 jobs worldwide, as well as 3000-4000 jobs within France. Over the last four years Areva has reported losses and has implemented these job cuts in an effort to reduce labor costs.
