Argentina Soybean-Processing Plants Blocked as Workers Strike Over Bonus
The Argentinian plants of two of the world's largest soy oil exporters have been stopped by a strike from their workers. The workers went on strike on Tuesday to demand a year-end bonus, and union leaders say that the strike will continue until their demands are met. A spokesman for a soy-oil group says that workers are stopping trucks from entering the plants, and that no meetings have been scheduled with the workers, but they are hoping the government will intervene.
