Argentine Unions Stake General Strike as Economy Deteriorates
The Argentine Labor Union CGT called for a 24-hour long strike on Thursday over job cuts and staggering inflation rates of over 30 percent. This strike involving 25 percent of workers, affected public transportation, public administration and gas stations. The economic climate has only worsened since the general strike on April 10th with the blocking of a coupon payment by the U.S. in July.
