As a result of the three-day LA school district worker strike last month, labor contract agreed upon that will improve wages and health benefits
As a result of the three-day strike held by workers in the LA school district, a labor agreement has finally been agreed upon between the unions and district. Last month, thousands of school workers like bus drivers and cafeteria workers went on strike and were backed by a teachers' strike in solidarity. Many of these support staff workers have been living in poverty due to low wages and limited work hours amidst the high cost of living in LA. The resulting labor agreement will raise wages and include cash bonuses for workers who worked throughout the pandemic, as well as expand health care benefits.
