As recession looms in the US and workers' bargaining power wanes, employers enforce stricter return-to-office mandates
Recently, more large companies, such as Vanguard Group and Paycom Software, have issued messages strongly encouraging their white-collar workers to return to the office in the new year. This has revealed the continuing conflict between workers and employers post-pandemic relating to return-to-office initiatives. Many employers had previously been more lenient about in-person mandates in fear of high turnover. However, as the labor market has shifted and employers regain their leverage, some companies are beginning to strictly enforce their in-office work policies.
