As strike drags on, SAG-AFTRA puts pressure on video game companies
Over 500 protesters gathered in front of SAG-AFTRA's headquarters yesterday to boost pressure on video gaming companies. SAG-AFTRA's dispute with the gaming companies began when the voice actors' contracts expired in 2014. SAG-AFTRA is pushing for residual payments for voice actors that would be calculated based on a video game's success. The union is also seeking better safety conditions for its actors. The strike began on October 21 and is aimed at 11 gaming companies, including: Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Take Two, Insomniac Games, Warner Bros. and Disney.
