As US tech industry struggles and layoffs abound, tech workers experience lifestyle and work changes
Recently, many tech companies have conducted layoffs and begun to scale back their hiring and benefit perks. These changes signal a large lifestyle change for workers in the tech industry, who had previously enjoyed a competitive talent market with high compensation for decades. Across the industry, companies are trying to cut costs and get more work done with fewer employees. As a result, there are some tech workers who do not fear losing their job but have expressed feeling "replaceable" which has motivated them to work more productively. Additionally, the struggles in Big Tech have allowed for other non-tech firms to secure talented tech workers that had previously been unattainable.
