AT&T Wireless Workers Threaten Strike This Weekend
If AT&T and wireless workers do not come to an agreement on a new contract by Friday afternoon, 21,000 workers in 36 states have stated that they may go on strike. CWA, the union that represents the workers, has already filed an unfair labor practice complaint following claims that AT&T did not release information about the bargaining sessions. CWA is hoping for wage increases more significant than the proposed 2% raise per year, as well as better job security. Seventeen-thousand wired workers are currently also negotiating with AT&T, and they engaged in a brief grievance strike in April.
