Australian Apple Store employees agree to new contract terms with increased base pay
About 90% of retail employees at Apple stores in Australia have voted to approve a new contract. The contract will cover the 2,372 retail workers and will take effect November 1 and will continue through 2017. All of the workers are broken down into three levels ranging in pay from about $20.95 per hour for specialists and Geniuses up to $72,799 per year for managers. The contract also rules for overtime, shifts and hours, meal allowances, and grievances. The Apple employees will have a starting wage 25% above Australia?s minimum wage and will increase by 2% annually for each year of continued employment.
