Auto contract talks step up at GM, enters critical phase for Chrysler
Negotiations between the United Auto Workers and auto companies, Chrysler, General Motors and Ford, are becoming more intense. The negotiations at Chrysler are happening seven days a week. Many believe that the UAW intends to reach agreements with Chrysler and Gm before Ford, which is the only company where workers are allowed to strike. Strike votes are taking place across the country at Ford plants. Contracts between the UAW and auto makers expire on September 14.
