Autoworkers Reach Deal With Chrysler
The Canadian Auto Workers announced on Wednesday that they had reached a tentative agreement with Chrysler, the last of its three negotiations. Chrysler had said that it might not accept the same general contract terms as Ford and General Motors, a major deviation from past practices. The tentative agreement includes many of the same terms as the agreements with Ford and General Motors, including a non-two tier wage system for new hires. The agreement does not include any specific investment or job creation terms. Chrysler has about 8,000 unionized workers in Canada.
