B.C. Teachers Strike 2014: Parents Scramble as Schools Stay Closed
Two weeks before summer, 40,000 teachers in Canada employed by the public school system walked off the job protesting class size, pay and lack of support staff. As the B.C. Strike continues, it appears that schools in Canada will have to delay the start of the new school year. In the wake of this, parents struggle to find daycare centers able to accommodate their children. Most daycare centers are at capacity with up to fourteen children wait-listed.
