BA staff to strike again in 2011?
As thousands of British Airways passengers are stranded due to snow, Unite, which represents the cabin crew, is conducting a new strike ballot. The ballot is polling about a possible strike at the end of January. Unite and British Airways have been at odds over a contract for almost two years. The negotiations have stalled over working conditions, travel perks, and the firing of some labor leaders. Unite says that issues started out as helping the airline save money during the financial crisis, but that the company's measures against workers have drawn the conflict out. They says that British Airways needs to come back to the table and make a deal.
