BAE and unions in pension talks
The Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU), the UK's biggest general union with over 900,000 members, has threatened industrial action against BAE, Europe's biggest defense contractor. The disagreement stems from proposals by BAE to change retirement benefits. The TGWU is challenging a plan that would increase employees' weekly contributions. BAE has declined to comment, saying only that they were conducting a review and asking workers for their opinions.
