Bay Area transit workers give strike warning
Commuters using the nation?s fifth-largest rail system are bracing themselves for rush hour chaos as two San Francisco based transit unions have issued a 72 hour strike warning. The unions went on strike earlier this month, causing the rail system to shut down for four days. Ongoing negotiations between the unions and management have been fruitless, with the two sides disagreeing over key contractual issues such as salaries and benefits. Union officials have stated that they intend to continue negotiations up until their contract expires on Sunday at midnight.
