BBC reaches pension agreement with unions
The National Union of Journalists and the BBC reached an agreement over pension changes on Tuesday. The NUJ staged a strike in November which resulted in a 48-hour loss of programming, and another strike was planned for the 15 and 16 of November, but was called off for more talks between the union and company. The parties agreed to a reevaluation of the pension each year that would be in line with inflation or 4%, whichever number is lower. The BBC has a 1.5 billion pound deficit.
