BBC to meet unions for job talks
BBC workers held a strike on Monday which severely disrupted television and radio services. The workers, representing anywhere from 38 to 55 percent of BBC employees, are upset at proposed job cuts initiated by director general Mark Thompson. The two sides plan to use conciliation service Acas in an effort to resolve the disupute, though the unions representing the employees still plan on holding a 48-hour strike next week.
