Better.com, a mortgage company, held a zoom webinar on Wednesday where more than 900 employees were informed by CEO Vishal Garg that they were being terminated. Garg said on the call, “if you are on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately.” In his speech Garg cited market efficiency, performance, and productivity as the cause of termination and allegedly accused employees of stealing from their colleagues and customers with their lack of productivity.
