BHP says Chile strike 'illegal' as stand-off continue
Workers at BHP Billiton?s Escondida mine have extended their one-day work stoppage to an indefinite strike. Workers are demanding profit-sharing, as commodity prices has been increasing, allowing the company to reap massive profits. A production loss of 3000 tons of copper per day is expected to occur as a result of this strike. As the stoppage is reaching its 6th day, analysts claim that BHP is not likely to let the strike continue for too long.
