Big Canadian Unions Vote to Merge
On Monday, members of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada voted to approve a merger with the Canadian Auto Workers. The merger will create a new union, representing more than 300,000 workers. The union will be the largest private sector union in Canada, and officials say that the merger will make it easier to fight for workers. About 30% of Canadian workers are unionized.
