Big Leaps for Parental Leave, if Workers Actually Take It
Over the past few weeks, major corporations such as Microsoft and Accenture have announced that they will be offering more parental leave to their employees. However, employees worry that these benefits will be offered, but that the companies' cultures will not encourage the new parents to actually take that time off. Just yesterday, the CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer, announced that she was pregnant but would only be taking limited parental leave. Even still, Microsoft will soon offer 20 weeks of paid parental leave to its female employees.
