Bills to protect California immigrant workers introduced
A new California law would make it illegal for employers to hire workers who are brought to the United States by contractors who are not registered with the state, as well as prohibit contractors from charging fees to workers and require them to disclose terms and conditions to workers. Supporters of the bill say that the provisions will help protect foreign workers, and that it will lead to better enforcement of labor standards.
