Boeing and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers reach a deal, avoiding worker strike
Boeing workers have called off strike action after a tentative contract agreement was reached. Workers are represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and the union represents over thirty thousand employees. Boeing workers were set to strike at factories in Washington and Oregon if a deal was not reached before the current contract expired later this week. The tentative contract will increase wages by 25%, and also improve various employee benefits. The contract will be sent to unionized employees on September 12th for a vote.
