Boeing defense workers reject deal to end strike
Unionized Boeing workers in the St. Louis area have rejected a new contract offer, prolonging a strike that began in early August and now involves over 3,000 employees. The machinists’ union said the deal fell short on bonuses and benefits, while Boeing emphasized its proposal included 45% average wage growth. With no new talks scheduled, the company is moving forward with plans to hire permanent replacements, leaving production of military aircraft such as the F-15 and F-18 in limbo.
