Boeing fighter jet workers poised to strike after rejecting contract offer
More than 3,200 Boeing workers in the St. Louis area are preparing to strike after rejecting a proposed contract that included a 20% wage increase over four years. The International Machinists and Aerospace Workers union announced that its members voted overwhelmingly against the deal, citing unmet priorities and sacrifices. Although union leaders had endorsed the offer for its improvements to pay and benefits, workers were not convinced. Boeing has begun strike preparations, but no further negotiations are currently scheduled. The strike is expected to begin on August 4 following a brief cooling-off period.
