Boeing gets 1,880 union workers to take voluntary layoffs
Boeing has announced that 1,880 members of its machinists union have taken voluntary layoffs. Workers in the Seattle area had to apply to be voluntarily laid off by February 1. The layoffs are part of the jet manufacturer's plan to cut costs. The union has not had involuntary layoffs in recent years.
