Aerospace giant Boeing petitioned the judge in its hearing against the National Labor Relations Board to designate a large number of company documents as confidential. Boeing hopes to seal documents related to its jets such as the 787 from competitors, as well as cut off any potential negotiating advantage union officials might gain by obtaining access to the documents. The NLRB has argued that the extensive media coverage the case has garnered warrants that the hearings and all related documents should be kept public.
