Boeing white-collar workers approve contract offer, averting strike fears
Following months of negotiations and the rejection of an earlier proposal, Boeing’s unionized engineers and technical workers approved a new four-year collective bargaining agreement. SPEEA represents about 17,000 employees, with roughly 68% of the professional unit and 53% of the technical unit voting for the deal. The agreement includes an immediate guaranteed 10% wage increase, followed by annual raises of 4% and potential additional performance-based increases. Ratification eliminates the possibility of an October 7 strike that could have disrupted Boeing’s aircraft certification and production programs. Reuters
