Booster mandate for NY health care workers is rescinded
On Friday, New York governor Kathy Hochul canceled the mandate that would require all health care workers to get a coronavirus booster shot by today. After meeting with nursing home industry officials, who worried that the mandate would worsen their already severe staffing shortages, Hochul and the State Department of Health rescinded the booster rule. The Department of Health says they will reassess in three months whether a booster mandate is necessary.
