Bosses lament: Sales jobs hard to fill
According to a survey by Manpower, sales representatives were the second-hardest job to fill this year behind those in skilled trades. Although data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the number sales jobs in the economy have hit a four year high, thirty-five percent of managers reported last month that they were unable to find qualified candidates to fill open positions. Researchers pin the shortage to an expanded list of job qualifications that candidates for sales positions are now expected to have; including specialized knowledge of the company?s sector. Shortages in the technical sectors are particularly prevalent.
