Boston official failed to disclose union ties to big project
Michael Monahan, recently accepted a position as Acting BRA (Boston Redevelopment Authority) chairman for the city of Boston and failed to disclose that his former union, the IBEW, was the one inspecting and giving the go ahead on critical city construction projects. Mr. Monahan stated that because he stood to make no money whether or not he brought votes before BRA that he did not believe there to be a conflict of interest and the he had consulted a lawyer before moving forward with his vote. Watchdog groups are currently investigating Mr. Monahan?s actions further. Mr. Monahan has a pension plan that invests in many development and construction projects in and around Boston.
