Both sides holding firm in Raley's strike
California grocery workers at chain Raley's are continuing their strike for the fifth day. The company said that there sales are improving and that workers are crossing the picket line. the United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents the workers, said that workers were not crossing the picket line and that customers were staying away. Raley's says that it had applications from replacement workers but has not hired anyone yet. Negotiations between the two sides have been ongoing for over a year, with health insurance being the biggest area of contention.
