Brexit: Limiting UK's access to EU workers 'will put business growth at risk', finds study
In the wake of Brexit, job seekers have declined sharply, leading businesses to increase starting salaries at the fastest rate in over a year according to research from a new report. The report, which also warns that such pay hikes are unsustainable, shows that Brexit policies will limit UK business growth if access to EU workers is cut off. While demand for staff has continued to rise in the UK, supply of labor has dropped sharply, which has lead businesses to increase salaries at an unaffordable rate as an attempt to attract new workers. In its new policies, the government may choose to sacrifice access to the EU single market in order to regain greater control over immigration.
