British Airways Cabin Crew Vote To Strike Again
British Airways cabin crew voted to strike again on Friday. The cabin crew voted 78.5% to strike. The cabin crew are represented by Unite, who has not yet set a date for a strike, a move which some attribute to declining public support. The dispute began over staffing levels, but became even more contentious when the airline removed travel perks and benefits from striking employees. the dispute between Unite and British Airways led to 22 strike days last year, and cost the airline millions. British Airways says that the latest ballot shows support for the union is waning, and that the union has been unreasonable.
