British labor union okays Israel boycott
In protest of Israel's ongoing occupation of the West Bank, delegates of Great Britain's largest union voted its approval of a plan to boycott Israeli companies. Sanctions would include severing ties with Israeli business, as well as boycotting cultural activites and urging the European Union to halt trade agreements with Israel. The vote comes after an unsuccessful drive by officials from the British union's Israeli counterpart to stave off the boycott, arguing that the economic hargships produced by such a move would only cause the situation in Palestine to deteriorate further.
