Britons are urged to end boycott of Israeli scholars
Palestinian and Israeli academics have joined forces in an effort to end the boycott of Israeli scholars by British professors. In April, the Association of University Teachers of Britain decided to bar Israeli faculty members at Haifa University and Bar-Ilan University from academic conferences and joint research, in response to an appeal by Palestinian organizations. Next week, the union will reconsider its ban, and is now facing pressure to end the boycott.
