Broadway management and production workers agree on tentative contract, avoid potential strikes
Potential Broadway shutdowns were avoided after an agreement was reached by Broadway management and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees union. Before a tentative deal was reached, the union was planning on holding a strike authorization vote, which would disrupt dozens of Broadway productions and various touring companies. The union represents over 1,000 production workers, including stagehands and backstage employees. The tentative deal that was reached, known as the Pink Contract, increases pay and benefits for employees and ensures that Broadway shows will not be affected by striking workers.
