Brown vetoes Calif. domestic workers rights bill
On Sunday, California Governor Jerry Brown announced that he was vetoing a bill that would have provided protections to an estimated 200,000 domestic workers in California. The governor said that the bill, which would have created regulations around overtime, meal breaks and other working conditions, had too many unanswered questions. Brown said that he wanted more studies on which regulations to impose and how to implement them, but that he supported fair working conditions for domestic workers. The governor also vetoed a bill providing protections to farm workers.
