Building Workers' Union Is Set to Limit Politicking
The Building Workers' union has come under investigation for illegally pressuring its workers to campaign for Mark Green, a democratic candidate for mayor in 2001. Union employees claim that they were forced to take personal and vacation days to work for Mr. Green, as well as working on the campaign during their normal job hours. Union officials have denied any illegal actions, but have agreed to adopt a new code of conduct that will regulate its political activities.
