Businesses fear the cost of paid family leave in N.J.
A new paid family leave bill in the New Jersey state senate has employers across the state up in arms, claiming its passage would result in loss of productivity and a shortage of skilled temporary workers. The bill would mandate employees be eligibile for up to ten weeks of paid family leave for both private and public employees, regardless of the company's size. Opponents criticize the bill's "one-size-fits-all" nature, stating that small business in particular will be strapped financially as a result.
