Businesses owned by women get special aid
Women and minorities are benefiting from a government program that helps small and disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy. Women and minorities who can prove that they have been socially and economically disadvantaged because of discrimination qualify to get no-bid contracts for U.S. government work. Not everyone supports the program, as some feel that it interferes with fair market competition.
