Caesars employees approve five-year contract with Culinary union
About 97% of the 13,000 employees represented by the Culinary Workers Local 226 at Caesars in Las Vegas approved a new five-year contract. Those represented include almost all of the food service workers, room attendants, beverage workers, porters, and most of the other non-gaming positions at the resort. The contract allows workers to keep their current health insurance as well as most other benefits, but includes raises in each of the first three years and reopened negotiations in year four and five. Statements by both the company and union emphasize the importance of both parties working together in order to maintain the customer service and efficiency while maintaining the desirability of employment at Caesars.
