California adds 24,000 jobs in June, surpassing pre-recession peak
The California unemployment rate dropped to 7.4% in June, thanks to the addition of more than 24,000 jobs to the state economy. While this technically means that all California jobs lost during the recession have now been recovered, the state is still tied for the fifth-highest unemployment rate in the United States, as job growth has not fully caught up with population growth.
