California gets $4 million in back wages for Mercury Cos. workers
633 California employees have been awarded $4.29 million in back wages, after being laid off without any notice from title insurance company Mercury Cos. One of the claims by workers was that they did not receive the required 60-day notification of mass lay-offs. A Labor Commissioner for the state said that the company closed without proper notification or paying proper final wages. Workers will also receive contributions to their 401(k)s in the near future.
